Dot to Dot
Polka dots are fun and whimsical. Incorporating them into interior design can be tricky. Color and scale are very important when using polka dots. Large scale polka dots in primary colors look child-like and dramatic while smaller scale dots in subdued tones give a more sophisticated look. Of course you can mix and match these combinations and end up with child-like sophistication! Here are a few examples of polka dots that I love!

Animal Prints
Animal prints are one of those things that people either really love or completely stay away from. I am usually a stay away from type (it reminds me of Peg Bundy!) but I DO like an animal print in moderation. Quality of material is huge too! Polyester cheetah drapes or calf hair skin in a zebra pattern? Here are few rooms that nailed it!

150 Shades of Gray
I was searching for gray fabrics yesterday and kept saying, "There are so many shades of gray!" Gray can have a brown, green or purple cast to it in so many of the fabrics. The easiest and most successful way to work with gray is to keep the amount of pattern to one or two pieces. Example below:
