I have a soft spot for time keeping devices. My favorite time pieces are from the older generations of watches, wall clocks, desk clocks, and grandfather clocks. I don't like the fact that we all check the time with cell phones now even thought I do it too!! I have fond memories of the grandfather clock striking with every passing hour at my Grandmother's house. I love wearing watches and switching my gold one for my silver one and sometimes wearing my leather strapped watch. In this cell phone society it seems like we are losing the need for watches and freestanding clocks. I wonder if these clocks will be relics in museums one day or if people will still like the charm of having them in their homes?

Since Mother's Day is this weekend I thought I would post some gift ideas that I would enjoy getting and giving! Red is usually a color associated with Valentines Day and Christmas but I like it for Mother's Day too! Red is an intense color and most of have intense feelings for our Mothers (mostly good and occasionally not as good). I love you Mom!
