Green Leaf

The Green Leaf Niseko Village is a ski in ski out resort located at the base of Mount An'nupuri in Japan. Recently renovated by award-winning New-York based firm Champalimaud Design, the hotel successfully merges restful retreat with cultural infusion. The rooms interiors are luxurious, restful, and are dotted with local artisans work. It's the best of both worlds when you want to escape and yet get a sense for the area you visit. On Your Mark

Get set...GO! The Mark Hotel in NYC is is great example of hotel design. I love this grand entrance!

This is what I think of when someone says they want their bedroom to be hotel-esque. Calm, soothing, color palette and inviting furniture.

These bathrooms are unique and clean-feeling...

The living spaces are such a contrast to the frenetic energy of NYC.

I'm not as crazy about the hotel lobby....It seems like involuntary hypnosis may occur if you stay there more than 5 minutes.

Take me to the Basement!

A new spa in Istanbul has opened in the basement of Edition Hotel. Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates the ESPA takes inspiration from traditional Turkish baths but twisted it with Miami Beach (or Vegas). I love the contrast between dark rich materials and the splashes of shiny translucent surfaces. They used an Alabaster-like material around the pool, a hanging curtain of crystals behind the reception desk, and sparkling glass pendants over the vanities. The day bed on chains makes the space feel young and Babylonian.
