Vacation in Azerbaijan?

OK, so when I saw this hotel I thought...Wow! How beautiful! Where is it? Azerbaijan? Where is that??? It's sandwiched between Russia and Iran. That's not really on my list of places to go but I can always appreciate a gorgeous hotel! So have a look at this Four Seasons Hotel recently updated by Reardon Smith Architects and Richmond International design firm.

Stunning Staircase!!

Falling Over The Edge

A contemporary way to finish the end of kitchen or bathroom cabinets is to carry the counter top all the way to the floor. Sometimes known as a waterfall edge the look is very clean. I think this style works best in spaces where you can see the counter top "spilling" to the floor. Here are some examples of contemporary and transitional kitchens with this edge detail.

Transitional House in CdM

I came across this listing for a new custom home in Corona del Mar. This was built by Spinnaker Development and is for sale for $4,149,000.00. I think they did a great job with the materials and the furniture. I love when a house's exterior matches the interior! The dining room and living room look so elegant but without feeling formal.

The epitome of transitional design.
