Vacation in Azerbaijan?

OK, so when I saw this hotel I thought...Wow! How beautiful! Where is it? Azerbaijan? Where is that??? It's sandwiched between Russia and Iran. That's not really on my list of places to go but I can always appreciate a gorgeous hotel! So have a look at this Four Seasons Hotel recently updated by Reardon Smith Architects and Richmond International design firm.

Winter Vacation

I was browsing through some hotels wondering where to go for my next vacation and looked at this gorgeous spot in Wyoming. The Aman resorts are absolutely impeccable! I just love the way this resort has been designed to feel mountain-esqe without being cliche. The Amangani uses materials that fit to the geography and dramatic ceiling heights to allow for maximum views of the vistas. My blood pressure goes down just looking at these photos! Now if only I could afford it!

Endless Summer

While the rest of the United States is enjoying fall Southern California is still roasting hot like its mid August. I am finally accepting that Summer isn't going away and this hotel looks like a great place for a summer vacation. The Park Hyatt Maldives. I absolutely adore the architectural elements of this place! The materials are so simple but the way they are installed makes the design unique.

The tree is sooo cool!

Pushed Over the Edge

The first time I ever saw an infinity edged swimming pool was in the mid nineties and I thought it was the most amazing idea!! I don't know who thought of it so I looked it up on Wiki and got this vague answer...

"The infinity pool design concept is said to have originated in France, where one of the first vanishing edge designs was utilized in the "Stag Fountain" at the Palace of Versailles in the early 1600s."

Via (Hollins Abroad)

OK, well, I don't who brought this magnificent style into modern times but I am sure glad they did! These pools are typically found at resorts and hotels where the view is stunning. Check out a few examples..
